Our Journey Continues

Hello from Kay and Jeff.  This is Kay writing this post update which has been long overdue and will be the last update for this original blog that we started up in 2012, six years ago.  Wow!

First of all, let me explain that the reason why you haven't seen any travel updates from us over the last year is due to the fact that I had to take a hiatus (from sitting!!) as I had been diagnosed with Pudendal Neuralgia ~ or what is commonly referred to in the realm of pelvic floor dysfunction (PFD).   No need for me to go into it but the bottom (and I truly mean the bottom!) line is that it was becoming extremely difficult for me to sit for any length of time.

PFD is a term that refers to healthy muscles in the pelvis that are not functioning the way they normally do; the result of routinely tightening the muscles of one's pelvis as an unconscious expression of anxiety.  This is like someone with TMJ grinding their teeth except the clenching is in the pelvis instead of the jaw.  So, after some time, the chronically tightened pelvic muscles don't relax back to their normal state, and symptoms of pain and dysfunction occur forming painful trigger points in the muscles.  Not fun.

At this point, I am continuing with stretching exercises, and have visited with a specialist in the field of pudendal neuralgia in the Phoenix area and continue to seek out programs and treatments available for this chronic pain.  We are both so lucky and grateful for these opportunities to travel, be with friends and family and to experience new and exciting places, always meeting new friends.  I too am grateful for my loving and supportive soul mate, Jeff.

In a nutshell, I needed a new beginning for us - a fresh start.  Therefore, our new blog going forward for 2018 will be http://getdownandtravel.blogspot.com.  My new work area in the Coach is standing room only so please continue to follow us as our journey continues.

Remember, enjoy life and be grateful for all of the Blessings that you have.

Hugs,
Kay and Jeff
